The Shabby Tea Room #207

Washi Tape you say? Well, I had to run out and purchase some because I have never used it and had none on hand. Wishy Washi is the inspiration for The Shabby Tea Room this week with this inspiration photo:

In my search for inspiration I found this lonely little house in the clearance section ( $.79) and grabbed it for future use:

Then, the first tape I found was from DCWV Vintage Collector. It was two rolls of tape which I snatched up quick. There was also a coordinating paper stack and some die cut hearts. I grabbed everything! I took it all home and let it settle in my brain for a bit and then I thought the tape would make excellent trim on the little house. So I started measuring and cutting the paper and threw everything together and came up with this altered house that I think I will gift to my grandbaby Cynsere for a trinket box:

There is a mixture of embellies from Maya Road (bird cage), Momenta (metal), Little Yellow Bycycle (burlap) and mulberry roses.

I hope this post is OK. I'm having trouble sizing my pictures. Thanks for looking and happy crafting girls!

Viva la Verve Feb Week 3

Happy Friday! I happen to be off work today and am trying to get a jump on posting my cards for the week. My husband was at a conference in Connecticut this week so I didn't feel as rushed as usual to get my crafting on! He returned last night and we got up early and went to the commissary case lot sale. What fun that was! Had to come home and make room for all the bargains.

OK, back to crafting. I am not very good at taking pictures. Everyone else's look so good and clean with white backgrounds and such. Right now I can only get good pics outside. It was windy today and I had the darndest time! But here we go. These are the inspirational photos for Week 3 at Viva la Verve Feb:

The colors just scream SEXY MAMA! I don't have very many Verve stamps, but I'm hoping that will soon change! I didn't know what I was missing. I used Kaisercraft and Authentique papers on this card with Verve shoe and purse stamp set (don't know the name--the cover is missing!). Some Spellbinders dies, Memento ink and Copics and here's the finished product:

So, there you have it. Express yourselves ladies!

The Card Concept #4

Greetings crafty friends! The Card Concept is really jumpin! I love playing over there and sampling different card styles. This week I tried Shabby Chic. I don't really have a specific style--I'll try anything! Here is the inspiration for a floral theme:

Checking out everyone's cards made me realize I need more flower stamps! So...I went on an online shopping spree and am awaiting (not patiently) my goodies. Meantime, here's the card I made for this challenge:

The gorgeous paper is from My Mind's Eye. I inadvertently hid most of the papers, but it really is lovely. The sentiment stamp is from Just Rite and the flowers are from I Brake for Stamps. I used a distressing tool on the edges and have just about worn my tool out. I have looked several times in my local craft stores and have not found a new one. Can you sharpen those things???

Here are a few other views of my card:

I also used a Memory Box leaf flourish die, an EK Success butterfly and some seam binding.

So, anywhoo...thanks for checking out my little corner of the world, and happy crafting folks!

Deconstructed Sketch # 139

Hello All! I just found the amazing Jen and her fun weekly sketch challenge - The Deconstructed Sketch. Jen has some wonderful sketches that I will probably go into her archives and play with later! Here is this week's sketch:

We had a gender reveal party (never heard of that before now) for my niece this weekend so I made a card in pink and blue. In all the hoopla I forgot to give it to her! Duh. The patterned paper is from Teresa Collins. The base and mat paper is Recollections. The stamps are a set from Recollections. Here are my photos:

I added some lace and a doily and there it is! The little doohickey under the lace is from a Spellbinders die. Here's a peek at the inside with teeny little feet:

Ciao!

Freshly Made Sketches #124

Ola! I always seem to be in a rush to post cards on Sunday. Even though I make them throughout the week, I never get them posted the same day. So, here I sit trying to beat the clock! Anywhooo...Here's my card for Freshly Made Sketches this week. I really love their sketches. Very little stamping on this one. The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped with Memento ink. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey, the base is Recollections and the white is Neenah solar white. All of the flowers are cut from Memory Box dies. I punched the little flower strip with a Recollections punch and added a bit of Stickles. A few pearl embellies and voila! Here's the sketch:

And here are my card images:

Enjoy your day, hopefully a crafting day!

The Shabby Tea Room #206

Hello blog friends! Once again I'm playing with the girls over at The Shabby Tea Room. What a lovely baby photo inspiration this week! The colors are just precious and oh so darling. I tried what I guess is a sepia look with lots of distress ink. I partially colored the bitty clothes to make them look somewhat faded. The clothes are stamps from Inkadinkado. In addition to the Neenah cardstock, I used some papers from Crafty Secrets Pastel stack. The banners and ovals are cut with Spellbinders and inked up real good. The image is cut from one of the pages of the pastel book also. The stamped sentiment is from Recollections. Here's the inspiration photo for the challenge:

And, ta da! Here are photos of my card:

Here's a peek at the inside:

Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Viva la Verve Feb Week 2

Hello Bloggers. Here's the sketch and my card for Viva la Verve Week 2. I'm starting to feel some discomfort in my back (wonder why) after my card marathon this weekend! Here's what's going on for week 2:

And here are some images of my card:

The paper is a lovely stack from Dovecraft titled Garden Party. The Verve stamps are from Circular Sayings and Petals & Stems. I used Neenah solar white and Bazzill papers, a Spellbinders die and a little bling.

Thanks for looking!

Viva la Verve Feb Week 1

Hello All! I stumbled on this Viva la Verve challenge while surfing the web this weekend. I had some time on my hands since hubby had to work (sigh) so I decided to play. Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

Unfortunately I can't identify the papers used for this card. They were a few loose pages I had in my scrap bin. The sentiment is a single Verve stamp (I think they're called Plain Jane's) and I used Spellbinders Lattice Accents for the two corners.

I'm looking forward to playing the rest of the month with you ladies!

Freshly Made Sketches #123

Well, it's such a shame my husband had to work this weekend. Oh, well...what shall I do??? Ha! I got four cards made, that's what. And what I time I had! Here's what's happening over at Freshly Made Sketches this week:

And, in the spirit of the Olympics, here's my card for this fabulous sketch:

And here are a few close ups:

I used Neenah solar white and Bazzill papers. The banner stamps are from Recollections, not sure of the maker of the alphabet stamps. They were loose in my bin.

Thanks for looking!

The Shabby Tea Room #205

Hello Blog Friends! I'm submitting this card for The Shabby Tea Room # 205 Sketch This! Yes, underneath all the flowers and foliage is the actual sketch, really. I had some fun with different flower and leaf dies on this one. I used a Just Rite stamp for the larger colored flowers, cut them out and layered kind of like 3D. I also used Memory Box Lorelai Leaf die, Memory Box Fancy Blossoms and Die-Namics Royal Rolled Rose. Added to it are a variety of mulberry flowers and some pearls. The paper underneath it all is My Mind's Eye, In Bloom. The sentiment stamp with the roses is a digi called Faith Block from Bugagoo Stamps. I slipped in a wooden frame and bitty bird cage from KaiserCraft. Happy crafting and thanks for looking!

The Card Concept #3

Hello visitors! I just joined the fun over at The Card Concept  and am happy to post my first card. After reading the very informative card style definitions, I figured this one fit in with Clean & Layered. Hope that's right! The instructions and colors in the inspiration photo, pinks and soft green seemed perfect for a baby girl card. So soft and sweet. Here's what I came up with using Recollections papers (never knew I had so many shades of pink), a Martha Stewart button punch and Recollections baby girl stamps with Memento ink.

Here's a close up of the darling little buttons.

And a peek at the inside. I repurposed the teeny little heart to the front of the card.

Have a wonderful day!

The Shabby Tea Room #204

Well, like I said I have no idea what I'm doing! I'm going to try and repost to The Shabby Tea Room since I just lost the page from yesterday. I mean, it's totally gone. My second post is showing up instead. Practice, practice, practice! Please bear with me.

This card started with my Neenah solar white, followed by a layer from Teresa Collins. I used a few Spellbinders dies, for the frame and the D-Lites Windows Two. The "love bird" is Bird Florishes, also from SB. The stamp behind the window is from Just Rite, colored with Copics.

Here's a close up of the love bird.

And...the window.

I hope this makes it to the challenge!
