VLV April Week 4

Can you believe we're at the end of April??? The weather has been so wishy washy here in VA; feels like Spring one day and Fall the next. So..what else is there to do except hole in up my craft room! I'm posting here today for April week 4 at Viva la Verve. Here's the sketch:

I happened to have the Spellbinders "Butterfly Corner" die which fit perfectly with this sketch. I cut the corner die and butterfly on Bazzil pearl paper and matched it with Recollections patterned paper. I used Lil Inker, SB circles and MFT Fishtail Flags dies. I stamped Verve "Celebrating You" sentiment and added the red rose for some eye-poping color. Here's my card:

Wishing you all a crafty week!

The Shabby Tea Room #215

Oooolala, the Pastel Goodness over at The Shabby Tea Room is so delicious! This beautiful inspiration photo created all kinds of sugar plumbs in my head:

I pulled out a baby pad from K & Co to get this thing started. I used some polka dot paper from the pad along with Recollections colored cardstock and Neenah Solar White for my stamping. Then I thought of this cute baby set from Outlines that I haven't used for eons but came to mind when I saw the challenge. I cut the stamp a few times for layers and colored the teeny tiny dots on the onesie with Copics.  I used Spellbinders square dies and Just Rite Heirloom Flourish One die to top off the frame. Some bitty roses and sheer ribbon and I'm done! Here's my card:

Enjoy a crafty day!

FMS # 133 & cQc # 238

Hi there,

I'm combining challenges again this week. I had been trying to keep up with six weekly challenges and was not faring very well! So I'm trying to learn the art of combining. Here I have combined this week's  Freshly Made Sketches with ColourQ. Here are the challenges:

I think it's amazing when I see a new challenge and can right away in my brain think of something in my stash that works. And...I have a VERY huge stash. The colored cardstock and Kraft used here are from Recollections and the top Kraft is woven paper from DCWV. I used my new Hero Arts doily die and MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags. The stamp is Flourishes Feminine Charm. I used Copics to create colors close to the cQc challenge. Here's my card:

Enjoy your (sunny) day!

My Favorite Things #173

Greetings! Here's this week's sketch at My Favorite Things WSC that I'm posting for:

MFTWSC173

Very cute, quick sketch to work with. I used Recollections patterned paper and orange cardstock along with my favorite stamping paper, Neenah Solar White. The stamps are MFT Daring Dots and Birthday Greetings along with Hero Arts for the candles. I also used Die-Namics Fishtail Flags. Here's my card:

Signing off for now!

VLV April Week 3

I'm posting today for Viva la Verve April Week 3 which has this fun card sketch and a lovely inspiration photo:

I couldn't believe it, but in my hordes of paper I did not have any navy blue prints. So I did what all ingenious crafters do...I made my own! I took my Spellbinders Fancy Lattice cover up die and used navy Recollections and white Neenah paper in reverse to create a pattern. I framed the center in bright aqua with Lil Inkers stitched frame die and added a Poppystamp leaf die. The flower stamp and sentiment are Verve Thankful Blossoms stamped with Memento Ink. Here's my card:

Wishing you all a crafty week!

VLV April Week 2

Hello,

I'm posting for Viva la Verve April Week 2. Somehow I missed Week 1 and will be posting out of order! Here's the sketch:

I used Canvas Corp Kraft & Black papers along with Recollections for the bright green. The Verve stamp is Lean on Me for the flower and sentiment. I used Spellbinders and Lil Inker dies for the circles. The corner doohicky is also SB. I used Staz On ink for the stamping. Here's my card:

Enjoy your day!

MFT Get Sketchy #172

Hello inky friends! I'm playing for the first time at My Favorite Things weekly challenge. Here's this week's sketch:
MFTWSC172

I used Recollections patterned paper along with Bazzill cardstock. The stamp is MFT Words of Inspiration. I added a few sequins and pearls to complete the card. Here's my photo with a close up of the sentiment:

Have a blessed Easter.

Deconstructed Sketch #147 & The Card Concept #8

For the second time this week, I was able to combine two challenges. I'm so proud! This was facilitated by limited time due to my recent Disney vacation. The two combined challenges are The Deconstructed Sketch and The Card Concept. Here is the sketch and inspiration:

I used Pebbles, Inc patterned paper along with Neenah Solar White and Recollections yellow paper. The stamp is My Favorite Things, The Rainbow Will Come, colored with Copics. I paper pieced the umbrella and used Lil Inker dies to make the sun/banner combo. For The Card Concept, I think this fits Clean & Layering.  Here's my card:

Enjoy your crafty day!

Freshly Made Sketches #132 & cQc #237

I have been on vacation at Disney World with the grands and am trying to catch up at work, at home and on weekly card challenges. This crush inspired me to try to combine a few challenges for the first time! Here I have combined this week's Freshly Made Sketches with colourQ challenge, both shown here:

Supplies used are Neenah Solar White cardstock; the colored cardstock is Recollections. I used a Darice embossing folder, Chevrons for the panel (it may be on backwards, I'm not sure!) and matted on the grey. The image is a cling stamp from TPC Studios, stamped twice and colored in Copics, one in grey for the shadow and the other colors I thought matched the colourQ palette. The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado. Here's my card:

Thanks for looking!

The Shabby Tea Room #214

This week's inspiration at The Shabby Tea Room is Easter Sweetness with this beautiful inspiration photo:

How sweet it is!

I used Melissa Frances paper titled "C'est la Vie" along with some Neenah Solar White. I stamped the eggs with Memento ink onto the patterned paper with Craft Smart stamps, which are the "bargain" brand at my local craft store. I added a little color with my Copics. The Easter banner is also from Craft Smart. I cut out the frame with one of my favorite Spellbinder dies, Floral Ovals. I was finished with the card and was rooting around in my stash for another project and spotted some K&Co die cuts what I purchased awhile ago. I thought the card needed a little something extra and added the die cut bird. I think it was just enough!  Here's my card:

And a close up of the eggs and birdie. I also added some Liquid Pearls to the eggs:

Enjoy your Easter!
